What devices can be serviced?
Any military and commercial electro-optical devices such as thermal, night vision devices, laser aiming modules, day optics, and many others. Anything that uses glass and or electronics will fall within the line of work. I have prior experience fixing the following devices- PEQ2, PEQ14, PEQ15, PEQ16, LA5, CNVD-T series, PAS13C/ D/ E, PAS13 Gulf, PAS23, PAS28, NGAL, Perst 2/ 3/ 4, Vector 21, Skeet IR-L, UTM/ UTMx, EOTech Holographic sights, Aimpoints, Kalinka/ Combloc optics, PVS7, PVS14, ENVG B/ PSQ42/ F-Bino, PSQ20A, PSQ20B, ITL MARS, and many others, including systems such as the Saber ATGM, FGM-148 Javelin.
What is the average work time for repairs?
Dependent on the device being sent in and the issues/ amount of work involved. Typically, on average, no longer than 1-4 days for most units that get sent in. In severe cases involving reverse engineering and custom part manufacturing, up to a month or less. The customer will be able to ask questions regarding their device and will receive replies with any and all updates regarding the status of the repair process.
What kind of repair fees should be expected?
Dependent on the device being sent in and the issues/ amount of work involved. Some devices are significantly more labor intensive than others. Some are also more expensive than others. Because of this, it's important to keep a balance as to not overcharge the customer for the work being involved, as it has to be fair and proportional to the value of the device, problem with the device, cost of parts involved to perform the repair, and time spent to work on it. Diagnosis of the device is free. If it is determined the device cannot be repaired, it will be sent back. If it is determined the device can be fixed, the customer will receive a quote and rough time estimate of completing the repair.
Can I pay to increase the power of my laser device?
As per the FDA, it is illegal to perform a modification to a laser device that involves increasing the power levels of the device above the advertised outputs. This requires the entity to be a manufacturer and receive a variance from the FDA. Power levels are checked, when necessary, before returning a device back to the customer to ensure it is within normal operating standards. Wavelength changes will not be performed either.
What exact services do you offer besides repairs?
CAD and manufacturing services are available. If a customer has something they need reverse engineered, they can send in the part/ device to be disassembled and accurately modeled. Any and all files will be provided as per customer request. If the customer requires parts to be manufactured, we can have them sent in to the appropriate supplier. The parts will be made according to the customers specifications. Pricing is great, with cost decreasing drastically with quantity of parts ordered. This is ideal for anyone requiring prototype parts to be made accurately and precisely without paying ridiculous sums of money from large stateside companies. Project collaborations are also more than welcome.
Are there things available for purchase which are not listed on the website?
There are plenty of items not listed for sale. For example, internal components like flex cables, connectors, SMD components, laser diodes, and many other things. Most people don't have the tools or knowledge to be performing repairs themselves, so they don't need to purchase them. However, specific components can and will be sold directly upon request, just send a message detailing what exactly it is you need! Spare parts from existing devices such as electrical components, physical housing components, glass, lenses, micro displays, sensors, boards, mounts, etc, are available for purchase at all times.
Do you buy broken devices or take trade in units?
It's my priority to repair legacy and current issue systems to keep them running. There are thousands of various electro-optics across the globe that deserve a second chance at life.
